I can say that year 2011 has been a good year for me hobby-wise.

Four Basketball Boxes From Dave and Adam's Card World
Last December 2009, I bought six unopened basketball boxes at Dave and Adam's Card World through their website.
It was my first time to buy from them and I was shocked when a UPS agent emailed me that I have to pay customs tax in the amount of around $110 before they will deliver the package to me.
After that incident, I vowed never to buy boxes from them anymore.

Old School Box Breaks 97-98 Ultra and 97-98 Skybox Premium
When I was younger and still a student, I just buy packs from the early to mid 90's products since I can't afford to buy boxes.
Now that I'm older and can afford to buy, I have bought boxes from current products but not from those old ones.
